Greenworks Pilot Energy Technology (G-PET) Grant Program Notice of Funding and Application

Greenworks Pilot Energy Technology (G-PET) Program Overview and Objectives

The Greenworks Pilot Energy Technology (G-PET) Program is being funded with $430,000 of federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to the City of Philadelphia.

G-PET offers a financing incentive to accelerate the market introduction of new, energy efficient products and services. G-PET will fund all or part of a pilot installation/s of qualifying products or services in projects located in the City of Philadelphia, with a preference for projects that are able to demonstrate additional project funding. Successful applicants will be awarded grants in the range of $50,000-$150,000 by the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC).

Qualifying products or services must be able to verify energy efficiencies and be at installation-ready stage. They may not be products or services which are well established in the marketplace or that are in research and development. They may include products or services for which a significant enhancement is being tested.

The G-PET Program funds should be used to offset the costs of installation, required testing, monitoring, and or subsequent modifications to the installed product or service necessary during the project period.

Qualifying companies must either currently be located in the City of Philadelphia or be prepared to establish a significant presence in Philadelphia. Preference will be given to companies and projects that are located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard’s Clean Energy Campus.

Qualifying projects last be able to demonstrate an ability to initiate and complete the project within 3 months from the date of an award. The project description should set forth clear milestones, capital requirements, and expected outcomes for each stage of the project.

Project must be able to demonstrate both near-term and sustainable job creation.
